Riopa punctata
Range
Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Vietnam and Sri Lanka
The common dotted garden skink, also called the common snake skink or spotted supple skink, is found in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Vietnam and Sri Lanka. Young skinks have a distinctive red tail, a colour lost in adults, where it is replaced by small spots that join into continuous lines with age. The dots extend onto the head and snout. The snout is obtuse, the lower eyelid has an undivided semitransparent disc, and the ear opening is about half the eye opening (Wikipedia, general species account).
