Breeds across temperate Europe and Asia

The Eurasian curlew is a very large wader, among the most widespread of the curlews, breeding across temperate Europe and Asia. Its English name imitates its call, and the species name refers to the bow-shaped bill. Three subspecies are recognised, breeding respectively in west, north and central Europe, in west and central Siberia to northeast China, and from western Kazakhstan to southwestern Siberia (Wikipedia, general species account).

The 2012 National Red List gives no status under this name.
