Günther's golden-backed frog, also known as the bronzed frog, is a true frog found in the riparian evergreen forests of the highlands of south-western Sri Lanka. The head is depressed and triangular, the snout prominent, the toes almost fully webbed, and the finger and toe tips widened into well-developed discs. The back is brown (Wikipedia, general species account).
Individuals are not shy and jump only when provoked. It is important prey for many snakes, including the vine snake. Some related species in India's Western Ghats were once included in it and were separated in a 2014 study. Nationally Near Threatened (Sri Lanka National Red List 2012).
