Kohukumbure's day gecko is a diurnal gecko endemic to Sri Lanka, named for Kohukumbure Walauwe Rate Rala, a leader of the 1817 to 1818 Uva-Wellassa rebellion. It was found between 354 and 567 m in wet evergreen forest at Kadugannawa, restricted to rock outcrops and granite caves in forested areas. It is closely related to Alwis' and Rajakaruna's day geckos. An adult male measures 33.9 mm. The body is short and slender with a large depressed head, light brown and light grey above with five irregular cloud-like black bands, and two oblique black and white lines between the eye and nostril (Wikipedia, general species account).

It shares its range with the Kandy round-eyed gecko, the Asian house gecko and other geckos. The describing researchers considered it threatened because of low numbers and record from only three locations. No national Red List category was found.
