The sun parakeet, or sun conure, is a medium-sized, vibrantly coloured parrot native to northeastern South America. Adults have black beaks, mainly golden-yellow plumage with orange-flushed underparts and face, and green and blue-tipped wings and tail; the sexes look alike. It is very social and lives in flocks, forms monogamous pairs and nests in palm cavities (Wikipedia, general species account).

It is commonly bred and kept in aviculture. This is a non-native species with no Sri Lankan account in the source; how it came to be on the Sri Lankan list should be checked. The 2012 National Red List gives no status under this name.
