The Amur falcon is a small falcon that breeds in south-eastern Siberia and northern China and migrates in large flocks across India and over the Arabian Sea to winter on the coasts of southern and East Africa. Males are dark sooty grey above with rufous thighs and vent, and the wing lining is white in flight. Females are harder to identify but have an orange eye-ring, red cere and reddish-orange feet. The wingspan is 63 to 71 cm (Wikipedia, general species account).

It was long treated as a subspecies of the red-footed falcon, which is its closest relative. The 2012 National Red List gives no status under this name.
