Range

South Asia, including south-east India

Jerdon's bushlark is a lark of south Asia with a large range in south-east India. It was once treated as a subspecies of the Bengal bush lark, until studies of call and distribution led to it being split, though not all authorities accept the split. It is typically very pale below and has arrowhead-like spots on the breast; it is very like the Indian bush lark but has buffy lores. The song is a dry rattle given from a perch (Wikipedia, general species account).

It was moved from Mirafra to a new genus, Plocealauda, after a 2023 genetic study. Nationally Least Concern (Sri Lanka National Red List 2012, listed as Mirafra affinis).
