The white-tailed iora, or Marshall's iora, is a songbird found in parts of India and Sri Lanka. Its status has been debated: it was suggested to be a variant of the common iora and returned to widespread acceptance as a full species only after 2003. It is best known from north-western India, with a few southern Indian specimens, and is now also known from Sri Lanka (Wikipedia, general species account).

It is told from the common iora by a short wing and tail, broad white tertial edging converging at the tip, a smaller shorter bill and different calls. One specimen from Ceylon was intermediate between it and the common iora. Nationally Vulnerable (Sri Lanka National Red List 2012).
