The large-billed leaf warbler is a migratory leaf warbler that breeds in central China and the Himalayas and winters in Sri Lanka, the Western Ghats and associated hill ranges. It is a somewhat large leaf warbler with a single wing bar, a prominent yellowish-white eyebrow, a broad dark eye stripe, a large darkish upper mandible and a dark crown with greyish ear coverts. It can be confused with the Arctic warbler (Wikipedia, general species account).

It is found in dense vegetation and sometimes urban areas, and is more often heard than seen. Its distinctive call is a two-note dir-tee with the second note much higher, given often and at regular intervals. The 2012 National Red List gives no status under this name.
