Wickramasinghes' bronzeback is a tree snake endemic to Sri Lanka, named for the herpetologist L. J. Mendis Wickramasinghe and his wife Nethu Wickramasinghe. It was formerly confused with Boulenger's bronzeback: the dry-zone populations are the true Boulenger's, and the wet-zone populations are this species. In the wet zone it lives alongside other bronzebacks, including Schokar's and the stripe-tailed bronzeback (Wikipedia, general species account).

The largest specimen in the type series is a female of 110 cm total length, and males are shorter, up to 79 cm. It is found in forest areas including Pundaluoya, Panadura and Labugama, is diurnal and mainly arboreal, and hunts in the sub-canopy and understory. No status is given for it in the Sri Lanka National Red List 2012 list checked.
