The white-browed fantail is a small bird, about 18 cm long, breeding across tropical regions of the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia from eastern Pakistan to southern Indochina, in forest and other woodland. It has dark brown upperparts with white wing spots, whitish underparts and a fan-shaped tail edged in white. Long white eyebrows meet on the forehead, and the throat and eye mask are blackish (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is insectivorous and often fans its tail as it moves through the undergrowth. Three eggs are laid in a small cup nest in a tree. Nationally Least Concern (Sri Lanka National Red List 2012).
